Mr. Liao is famous for his political and social satire cartoons. When the Anti-Japanese War broke out in 1937, Mr. Liao became even more steadfast in his political and artistic orientation. In his creation, he used the anti-Japanese guidelines and theories of the Chinese Communist Party as content and adopted the manner readily acceptable and easily understandable for the masses. The Anti-Japanese War Strip Cartoons of the same are the representative works of this period. But most of the similar works of the time got lost and only a very small number of them are preserved.
