Zhao Shaoang（1905-1998）, as an accomplished leading representative figure of the Lingnan School of Painting. In 1920 he met his mentor Gao Qifeng, one of the founders of the Lingnan School of Painting, and started to learn painting under Gao’s instruction. He inherits the traditional techniques but set ‘modernize the traditional Chinese painting’ as his goal then pursing to combine the arts and modern daily lives and formed a unique painting style.

Due to professor Zhao’s  profound influence on Chinese fine arts development and the great contribution on Lingnan painting school’s reformation. Therefore this time we are going to present Zhao’s art creations which were created in 1930s to 1990s. In order to fully demonstrate the artistic style of Professor Zhao, we are showing all his paintings that covered in all themes, such as animals, landscapes, characters and penmanship in this exhibition.
