Release time:12-07-06

He Xiangning, the wife of Mr. Liao Zhongkai, worked closely with her husband and Dr. Sun Yat-sen for the 1911 Revolution. She was not only a famous revolutionist and politician, but also a world-known painter.
Led by Dr. Sun Yat-sen, she and Mr.Liao participated in the 1911 Revolution and the anti-warlord battles in the early 20th century. She also assisted Dr. Sun to reform the Chinese Nationalist Party and facilitated the First United Front. After the failure of the revolution in 1927, she insisted on Dr. Sun’s principles of “allying with the Soviet Union and the Communist Party” and “helping the agricultural workers”. During the Second Sino-Japanese War, she opposed to the corruption of the GMD Government and devoted herself in the anti-Japanese movements. She then re-unites the democratic power of the GMD Government and joined the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference held by the Chinese Communist Party during the Liberation War. She made great contribution for the establishment of the P.R.C.

After the establishment of The People"s Republic of China, she was appointed the chairperson of several governmental organizations and the Chinese Artists Association.

He Xiangning’s painting had recorded the political and social changes of China during the early 20th century. They also reflected her work and devotion for the revolutions in modern China in the past 70 years. Her artworks are invaluable pieces for the Chinese nation.
