The figure paintings of Yang Zhiguang

Yang Zhiguang is considered as one of the foremost artist of this century and he is known as his figure paintings.

Yang painted ordinary workers from different nationalities, and different occupation since the founding of People’s Republic of China to the early 80’s.

He traveled throughout Dunhuang in 1961, and inspired by the Dunhuang murals. After the Reform and Opening of 1979, he drew down the dancing peoples in boneless way. He combined the profiling techniques of Western painting with the strokes, ink and conception of Chinese boneless painting to form an agile and bright personal style and has enriched the expression power of Chinese traditional painting.

The theme of the exhibition is “The figure paintings of Yang Zhiguang”, which is selected from our museum, and wish the audience will enjoy it!
