In 1957, Mr. Lai Shaoqi turns his point to the Chinese traditional paintings. He purchased a set of Chen Laolian’s brochure, and he was particularly admiring Chen Laolian’s elegant artistic taste and decorative composition. Lai Shaoqi was influenced by Chen’s highly finished paintings combine elegant line with decorative color. Later, Jing nong’s painting style also inspired him to create new ideas. Mr. Lai Shaoqi keeps on painting Chinese paintings after the 1957, and established “the New Huangshan School of Paintings”. 

During "Bingyin reform"（1986—1994）period, he using bright and pure colors created new art style. He also using blocks of color instead the ink wrinkle, so that the lines is more concise.
